  • When do I have to update my iOS application?

    All changes and updates to ARRL digital magazines will be instantly available to your desktop. In order to get these updates onto your application, you must do an application update.

     

    To manually update: You will receive a push notification alerting you that an update must be made--this is indicated by a small red circle with a "1" in it on your App Store icon. Go into the App Store and choose the Updates section from the bottom tool bar. Select "UPDATE" next to the ARRL Mags app.

     

    To enable automatic updates: Under Settings, go to "iTunes & App Stores." Select the switch next to Updates so that it turns green. Now all of your apps will automatically update when you are connected to Wifi or data.

  • Is my iOS device compatible?

    It is always recommended to use the most updated iOS version on your device. Members using Apple iOS devices  can also access ARRL digital magazines on their iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches through the ARRL Mags app. You may go to the App Store and search "ARRL" to download ARRL Mags onto your iOS device or simply click the link at the bottom of this page. The app is most compatible with devices running iOS 8 or later.

  • How come I can log into the ARRL website but not my application?

    We have found that the ARRL magazine log-in system does not process passwords containing ampersands or plus signs. While we work with our developers to resolve this, you may edit your password at

    www.arrl.org/myARRL

  • My app is slow and/or crashes, what can I do?

    We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing crashing and download problems.  For best performance, shut down any other apps running in the background, force quit the app, then re-open it, or turn your device off and then turn it back on.  Finally, you can try deleting and re-installing the app. If you continue experiencing difficulties, please contact [email protected].

     

  • Why am I being told that I have to purchase an issue?

    If you are an ARRL member, you do not have to purchase an issue of any ARRL magazine. This option is provided only for non-members. Do NOT click the purchase button. Instead, simply log in with your user name and password and you will have access to all issues.

  • Can I read ARRL magazine issues without an internet connection?

    Yes -- but you must first download the desired issue to your device while you are still connected to the internet. Once downloading is complete, you must briefly open the issue while still connected. Doing so will authenticate that issue for off-line reading.

  • When I install the app, it asks for contact information. Why?

    This is an "artifact" of the way the platform was originally designed (it was designed by the vendor for several different purposes). You do not need to provide any information to the app, or allow it to access your contacts. Skip the request or click "no."
